Say hello to Neil Payne, or as I like to call him, the Wildlife Whisperer! After a successful teaching career at UW-Stevens Point, he’s hung up his academic hat but hasn’t slowed down one bit. During his tenure, he made waves by conducting in-depth research on over 20 wildlife species (that’s a lot of critters!). With more publications than a news website on election night, including seven books on wildlife management, Neil has sculpted conservation practices that resonate even beyond Wisconsin.
Now, Payne’s research focused heavily on habitat management, insisting our beloved critters deserve cozy spaces to thrive, much like we all seek comfy couches for our binge-watch marathons! His findings emphasize the connection between well-maintained habitats and thriving wildlife populations.
